The Landscapes of Ted's Life
Immortalizing the countryside surrounding Seeley’s Bay, Ontario represents one of Ted’s true passions. For many years Ted has been building his studio in the woods near Whitefish Lake, between driving nails and laying flooring Ted has captured the fields and farms that could be anywhere in Canada, but which hold special meaning in his heart as home.
Ted finds the quiet solitude of winter landscapes especially telling both as uniquely Canadian and as images that tell their own stories through the detail and emotion. Each landscape tells its own special story, from the almost surreal experience of Strangers Passing, which captures the sunset lit clouds over the lake behind his studio, to Seeley’s Bay that could be any small town in Canada with a gas station, grocery store and town hall. Wilderness, takes the viewer to a place deep within the forest where the spirit of the forest dwells, close examination presents an image where the viewer’s imagination is tested and every observer sees their own visions.
